Wellbeing Project Fund
If you’re interested in joining Harvard’s continued effort to create a culture that embraces the importance of mental health and wellbeing, apply to the Wellbeing Project Fund. Students, faculty or staff can apply for a grant of up to $2,000 to lead initiatives that support the Center for Wellness and Health Promotion’s Wellbeing Framework to promote emotional, environmental, intellectual, physical, relational, spiritual, and vocational wellbeing.

The Wellbeing Project Fund grant is a one-time, nonrenewable grant awarded to selected projects that embrace one or more principles of the Wellbeing Framework.
Up to $2,000 per request is available. Applications must be used by May 31 of academic year the project takes place.
Applications are reviewed from August 1 – April 30 each academic year.
- Applicant must be a current student, faculty, or staff member.
- Student-led projects require sponsorship by their dean of students or a faculty or staff member. A letter or email from your sponsor is required with your application.
- Applicant must demonstrate:
- Potential benefits to promoting wellbeing and mental health among the Harvard student community.
- Awareness and leveraging of existing student wellbeing programs and resources, rather than duplication of current efforts.
- Funding cannot be used:
- Retroactively, nor for equipment purchase.
- For student employment, stipends, memberships, or travel.
- Priority will be given to initiatives that emphasize community building.
Each proposal will be reviewed by a subcommittee of the University’s Wellbeing Steering Committee. Decisions will be made on a rolling basis, however please submit applications no later than 3-4 weeks before your event start, as application reviews will take up to 2 weeks.
Awardees are strongly encouraged to promote their events/activities by utilizing the “We’re All Human” toolkit, which will be made available to them.
Awardees will be asked to complete a brief report about project outcomes within 10 days of completion of the initiative.
Each application must include:
- Project name
- Description (including proposed benefits to wellbeing and description of cross-school collaboration, as appropriate)
- Marketing plan
- Itemized budget, including other funding support, using the budget template
- Applicants must secure a letter or email of support from a student affairs administrator that will also (a) oversee the financial aspects of the grant and (b) provide whatever administrative oversight or guidance is necessary.
